We're inviting a small number of Adelaide families to take part. A relaxed, guided session at our Parkside studio or a favourite location, where the moments between you become a portrait you keep.

Why we’re doing this
Because these years don’t come back.
Children grow up. Parents grow older. The shape of a family shifts a little every year, usually so quietly that you only notice it looking back. We know the feeling, because our own families have grown the very same way, and the portraits we treasure most are the ones we were glad we stopped to make.
That is the whole reason for this project. To give a small number of Adelaide families a beautiful portrait of the people they love, made while everyone is still here and still this age. We finish every piece by hand in our Parkside studio, so it lasts on a wall for decades rather than seasons.
How it works
You don't have to do a thing except be together. We guide all of it and keep it relaxed, so what we capture is you as you actually are, not a pose.

Every family in the project receives one finished portrait,
matted, mounted and individually boxed,
hand-prepared in our studio

as a gift to begin your collection.

What Happens Next?
After you've submitted your form, we'll take a look through the responses and give selected families a call to learn a little more, answer any questions, and discuss available session times.
If you're invited to take part in the project, a $150 booking fee secures your session and photographer. This fee is then fully credited towards any portrait artwork you decide to purchase.
Since 2026, Adelaide Portrait Studios has been creating The Adelaide Family Portrait Project™, an ongoing photographic record celebrating South Australian families and the relationships that shape them.
