An unexpected visitor from 60yrs ago

Meet Louise

We had an unexpected knock on the studio door last week, with Louise (90) and her son Roderick passing by.
Louise had avoided passing this way for years, afraid the little cottage in the heart of Kent Town had been bulldozed to make way for highrise appartments...

Louise lived in our studio in the 1950's as a newly-wed with her mother in-law which was then a 3 bedroom cottage only.

As in the picture our front reception was Louise's dining and lounge room, and a piano was even squeezed in. She was pleased to see the original fireplace, ceiling moulds and stain glass window are still in the cottage.

Our now boardroom and office was Louise's bedroom and our viewing room was her mother in-law's bedroom. The kitchen was a lean-to out the back with hessian roof and our carpark was full of plants and veggies.

We love working from this little cottage, which is now twice the size of original building and thankfully we now have toilets inside!

Thank you Louise for calling past - it was a delight to meet you and share in some of your stories…
