Our Number one Question

 “What do I wear?”

Your family portrait will be a timeless reminder of your family now and a gift for future generations.
Simple clothing combinations is generally the best approach.

From experience we have found:

Either all dark solid colours or all lighter coloured clothing
Tone down bright colours, particularly reds
Avoid strong patterns and prints
Avoid short pants / skirts
Don’t over accessorise

Lighter Coloured Clothing

and / or pastels, will give a more casual, relaxed feeling to your portraits. Younger families often prefer this look.

Dark Solid Colours

With darker tones the focus moves to your expression and eyes, perfectly suited to creating timeless classic images - beautiful for black and white portraiture.

Remember to Avoid Red

 Formal look:

we love it, and for it to work beautifully everybody within the portrait should be dressed the same way…..
eg: don’t cross jeans for some with others in suits.

The bottom half:

While our primary focus is always your expressions and the delight of interactions between everyone there are times when we may have more than just the top half in view. Please be mindful to wear appropriate footwear that matches your outfit.

Of course young families, bare feet, jeans rolled up and lots of laughs down at floor level works too!

We are more than happy if you want to change outfits before the session if the weather outside is woeful.

Accessories

Less is always more in this scenario.

The most important thing is that you are all comfortable…
We want you to relax have fun and enjoy the experience, so dressing comfortably we ensure you are.
Your portraits are being crafted to last a lifetime - a classic feel rather than todays trendy option ensures we all can be sure to pay most attention to your fabulous smile!
