We’d love yours to be one.
Throughout the year we invite a limited number of Adelaide families to take part, a relaxed, guided session at our Parkside studio or a favourite Adelaide location, creating a portrait you'll smile at every time you walk past it.
Why we’re doing this
Because this is your family, right now.
Almost every family says the same thing when they arrive: we've been meaning to do this for years. Life's busy and a portrait is always something for later, and later keeps moving. So here's your reason to do it now.
We've spent forty years photographing Adelaide families, some across three generations, children we photographed years ago now bringing in children of their own. From youngsters to grandparents (always young at heart), we've been there for the milestones and plenty of family weekends in between. It hasn't stopped being a privilege.
The Adelaide Family Portrait Project™ is how we're opening that up to more families. One unhurried session, and a portrait of the people you love most, exactly as you are today.
What you end up with isn't a photograph from a session. It's finished portrait artwork, hand-prepared in our Parkside studio, made to live on your wall for decades rather than seasons.
We'd love yours to be one of them.
At the moment we’re especially keen to photograph multi-generational families, grandparents, parents and grandchildren together, for our own portfolio. It’s some of our favourite work, and we’d like more of it to show families exactly what’s possible.
In exchange for a little more creative latitude during your session, we set aside our usual session fee and gift you a finished portrait afterwards, as our thanks. Any images we might use to show future families are always chosen together, and only ever with your permission.
There’s no obligation to choose anything further, and nothing is decided until you’ve seen your family exactly as we captured them.
How it works
You don't have to do a thing except be together. We guide all of it and keep it relaxed, so what we capture is you as you actually are - not a stiff pose.

The portrait session.
Relaxed and guided at our Parkside studio or a favourite Adelaide location. We do the directing; you simply enjoy being together.

Your private viewing.
We show you the finished images and help you choose the portrait artwork you would love to enjoy in your home.
3.
Handcrafted artwork.
Every finished piece is prepared by hand in our Parkside studio and created to become part of your family’s home.

A finished portrait to keep.
Every family in the project chooses one finished portrait from their session to keep, matted, mounted and individually boxed, hand-prepared in our studio and valued at $340, as a gift to begin your collection. There's no obligation to choose anything further, and if you fall in love with more pieces for your wall once you've seen your images, we can help you bring them to life.

What Happens Next?
After you submit your application, we’ll review it personally.
If selected, we’ll contact you by phone and email to chat, answer questions and discuss available session times.
If it all sounds right and you’d love to have your family photographed, we’ll find a date and location to suit you. A small refundable booking fee is taken only if you choose to reserve a session, to confirm your time and photographer. This is refunded at your viewing appointment when you attend, or can be credited toward additional artwork you choose. See our booking policy for full details.
Your session is planned around your family, and after your private viewing you simply choose your favourites to create finished artwork you would love to enjoy in your home.
