At Adelaide Portrait Studios, we specialise in commissioned family portrait photography, creating finished portrait artwork designed specifically for our clients’ homes.

Our Signature Portrait Experience is intentionally unhurried and personal — allowing you to enjoy the process, see the portraits first, and then decide what feels right for your family.

How the experience works

• Portrait Session - relaxed, intentional family portrait photography
  Your experience begins with a relaxed family portrait session at our Adelaide studio or one of Adelaide’s beautiful parks, beaches or Adelaide Hills locations.
  We photograph gently and thoughtfully, focusing on natural connection rather than forced posing.

• Viewing & Design — private consultation to explore your portraits and options
  As always, you’ll return for a private viewing where we revisit the portraits together and discuss what best suits your home, your space, and your style.
  Clients often tell us this is the most enjoyable part of the experience — calm, considered, and never rushed.

• Artwork Creation — design and craft finished portrait pieces for your home
  From there, we guide you through creating finished portrait artwork — designed to live beautifully in your home for years to come.

We work with a limited number of families at any one time to ensure each experience receives our full attention.
There are no high-pressure decisions.
And there is no obligation to proceed beyond what feels right for you.

Our role is to guide you thoughtfully — helping you see what’s possible and make decisions with clarity and confidence.

Signature Portrait Experiences are offered in limited numbers.

We photograph just six families per week to ensure every portrait receives the time, care, and attention it deserves.

Sessions are released in curated blocks and often fill ahead of time. Once a release is full, no additional sessions are added.

Two Ways to Begin Your Portrait Experience

Every portrait we create is designed with the intention of becoming finished artwork for the home.
Because families come to us at different stages of readiness, we offer two ways to begin — both centred around the same thoughtful, guided approach.

Signature Portrait Commission

(Recommended)

For families who know they would like artwork created from their portraits.

This is our complete, fully designed portrait experience, allowing us to plan the session and artwork with intention from the very beginning - from how the portraits are photographed through to how they will live in your home.

Includes:

• Portrait photography session (studio or location)

• Pre-session design consultation

• Guidance on artwork size, style, and placement for your home

• Priority access to session and viewing appointments

• In-person portrait viewing and artwork design consultation

• $950 fully credited toward your finished artwork

Most families choose this option, as it allows us to design their portraits and finished pieces cohesively from the outset.

(No additional session fee — applied in full to your commissioned artwork)

Portrait Experience

For families who would prefer to begin with the experience itself before deciding on commissioned artwork.

This is a relaxed, professionally guided portrait session, followed by a private viewing where you can explore your portraits and choose any artwork that feels right for your home.

Includes:

• Portrait photography session (studio or location)

• Private viewing appointment

• Session fee covers photographers time, image selection preparations and guidance toward artwork (ordered separately)

Session Reservation: $350

Which option is right for you?

If you already know you’d love artwork created for your home, the Signature Portrait Commission allows us to plan everything thoughtfully from the beginning.

If you’d prefer to start more simply and experience the process first, the Portrait Experience offers a natural starting point.

Either way, the experience is calm, personal, and guided — with decisions made only after you’ve seen your portraits.
